HOOKSETT - Benoit R. Noel, known affectionately to many as "Ben," passed away on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at the age of 84. He was born on the last day of 1939, in Manchester, NH, and made his home in Hooksett, NH, where he was known for having the best lawn in town. Benoit was a generous soul, always ready to lend a hand or share a smile, which made him a beloved figure in his community. Benoit led a dedicated and reliable life. He was a skilled painter, working for R. Therrien & Sons Painting until his retirement. Benoit carried these qualities into his personal life as well. He loved golf and puzzles, and spent many an afternoon at the 99 Restaurant in Hooksett, where he was a familiar and friendly face. He was a snowbird, who enjoyed his time from January to April in Fort Myers, FL. Benoit was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Diane (Stapleton) Noel in 2007; his parents, Herve and Mary (Poch) Noel and his brothers, Herve Jr. and Jerry Noel. Members of his family include his son, Erik Noel and his wife, Michelle Bouffard-Noel of Epsom; daughter, Kristin Noel and her husband, David Velicky; step-son, William "Bill" Duquette and his wife, Susan; grandchildren, Nolan and Gavin Duquette, Xander and Christian Noel, Charles Matthews and his fiancée, Ashley Geddis, Jr. and Mary Ellen and her husband, Mark Gagnon. Above all else, Benoit valued his family and friends, and he will be profoundly missed by all who knew him. Calling hours will be held on Monday, July 1, 2024, from 5pm to 7pm at Roan Family Funeral Home in Pembroke. A graveside service will take place on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at 10:00am at Elmwood Cemetery in Methuen, MA.
