PITTSFIELD- Mrs. Barbara R. (Vien) Williams, 76, of Pittsfield, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on August 22, 2022. A lifelong Pittsfield resident, Barbara was the daughter of the late Edward L. and Jean C. (Hutson) Vien. After graduating high school, she worked at Pittsfield Shoe for many years, going on to become a data entry operator for the State of New Hampshire. Most recently, she was employed as a caretaker for the adult foster care system in New Hampshire. Barbara enjoyed crocheting, diamond painting, watching crime shows and reading. She also enjoyed games of chance, especially bingo. Fondly known by many as being a "spitfire", she was most happy at home surrounded by her family and friends. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Lawrence M. Williams and her sister, Jeanne Payne. Barbara is survived by her son: Lawrence Williams, Jr. and his wife Melody; her daughter: Jean Williams and her fiance Robert Harrison and Adam Gauthier, whom she considered a second son, all of Pittsfield. She was the loving grandmother to Thomas Williams and Emily Williams and was the sister to Sandy Morgan of Campton and Shirley Hayes of Barnstead. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. A Memorial Gathering will be held on Sunday, August 28th from 12 to 2 P.M. in the Roan Family Funeral Home - Still Oaks Chapel, 1217 Suncook Valley Highway in Epsom.
