Obituary

HOOKSETT – Alice E. Chabot, 68, of Hooksett, passed away at her home on Wednesday, May 8, 2025. Alice was born on March 15, 1957, in Manchester; she was the beloved daughter of Maurice and the late Lorraine (Soucy) Remillard. A lifelong resident of southern New Hampshire, Alice grew up in Bedford, raised her three children in Auburn, and, after proudly sending them all off to college, relocated to Hooksett for her retirement years. She was a fixture in all these communities. In Auburn, she was known as a loving mother, thoughtful neighbor, first-rate field-trip chaperone, and second mom to dozens of her children's friends. After her move to Hooksett, with her children grown, Alice leaned into her love of plants and animals—spending her retirement gardening outdoors and tending to dozens of thriving indoor plants. She also lovingly cared for her most cherished pets, including her dove Lily and her heartfelt retirement companion, Doc Doc the Yorkshire Terrier. The greatest joy of her retirement years was her four grandsons: Jackson of Hooksett, NH, and Hugh, Harrison, and Arthur of Basking Ridge, NJ. Their visits brought her immeasurable happiness, and she doted on them from near and far, including with "Memere's famous chocolate chip cookies," even from 300 miles away. She is survived by her children, Jessica Chabot of Hooksett; Ryan Chabot and his wife Kara of Basking Ridge, NJ; and Jaime Weatherby and her husband Woodrow of Ramsey, MN. She also leaves behind her father, Maurice Remillard; her siblings David Remillard and his wife Susan, Mark Remillard and his wife Dorine, and Judy Remillard; four grandchildren—Jackson, Hugh, Harrison, and Arthur Chabot; and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, neighbors, and friends—especially her lifelong and devoted friend Debbie Norris and her husband Gary of Raymond, NH. She was predeceased by her brother Tom Remillard. A period of visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 20, 2025 from 10AM to 12PM at the Roan Family Funeral Home, 167 Main Street, Pembroke, NH. A graveside service will follow at 1PM at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Manchester. To share a memory or offer condolences, please visit www.roanfamilyfuneral.com.
