EPSOM- Mr. Glen D. Booth, Sr., 84, of Epsom, passed away at home surrounded by his family on March 17, 2023 after a period of declining health.
Born in Milton, VT, Glen was the son of the late Donovan and Doris (White) Booth. He was raised and educated in Springfield, VT, was a graduate of Springfield High School and would spend the majority of his life in the Pittsfield, Chichester and Epsom area.
An honorably discharged Veteran, Glen enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1958 and served until being discharged as a Corporal in 1962.
Glen was a devoted member of the Lions Club for over 40 years and served as Past President. He was most recently involved with the Loudon Lions Club and was also a member of the VFW.
He enjoyed building birdhouses but his life truly revolved around helping others. He was a very kind man with many good friends and was always willing to volunteer his time, especially to the Lions Club.
Glen was predeceased by his daughter: Karen Prior; his son-in-law, Douglas J. Macneil; his brother: Wayne Booth; his sister, Vera Sheldon; and his brother-in-laws, Theodore “Rusty” Parry and Bill Candage.
He is survived by his children: William Booth and his wife Kellie of Penacook, Richard Booth of Gilmanton, Ellen Macneil of Allenstown and Glen Booth, Jr. and his wife Jessica of Pittsfield. He was the brother to Molly Parry of Allenstown, Eleanor “Tiny” Candage of Louisiana and Ralph Booth of Pittsfield. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, many great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Calling Hours will be held on Thursday, March 23rd from 4 to 6 P.M. in The Roan Family Funeral Home – Still Oaks Chapel, 1217 Suncook Valley Highway in Epsom. A Private Burial with Military Honors will be held at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen.
